In addition, you’ll find a variety of activities throughout the day such as scavenger hunts, pool games, Boardwalk carnival, Royal Promenade parades, and more. Just like dining venues, there’s no shortage of places to find a refreshing drink on Allure of the Seas. Whether you’re in the mood for a soda, cocktail, smoothie, or glass of wine, you’ll find plenty of places to get a drink onboard. We recently booked "Allure of The Seas" for September of 2011.

Entertainment options

Also on the pool deck are four bars, a suites-only sun deck, and an area for live bands to play reggae, rock, and contemporary hits throughout the day. Families flock to Allure of the Seas, a ship that celebrates youthful exuberance in the form of surf simulators, rock climbing walls and some of the best children's facilities at sea. But the ship also clearly appeals to active couples, mainly in their 30s to 50s. Numerous spaces, especially the foliage-filled Central Park, provide a relatively kid-free ambience.

Each age group has their own room for activities, and there is also an Imagination Studio for arts and crafts and a science lab for educational experiments. In addition, child-friendly movies are shown throughout the cruise at the Adventure Ocean Theater. The Solarium is also home to the Solarium Bistro, a complimentary dining venue open for breakfast and lunch, and Samba Grill Brazilian steakhouse in the evenings. There’s also Ice Games, the signature ice-skating show in Studio B, which features a talented international ice cast who spin, dance, jump, and flip on the ice.

Sabor Mexican restaurant

Maybe soon, the cruise lines will cater to my age group, but as of right now I guess we are not the main target audience. This Oasis Class favorite brings adventure to soaring new heights. Discover next-level thrills on every deck of Allure of the Seas®, from white-knuckle zip line rides ten decks up to totally splashworthy spaces for kids, like the interactive H20 Zone℠ Water Park. Get down after dark with more bars than any ship out there and savor a world of possibilities right onboard. You already know that Sabor is one of my absolute favorite restaurants on any cruise ship, and I was ecstatic to find that it still exists on a couple of Royal Caribbean's ships, including Allure of the Seas. I ate there twice during my voyage and stuffed myself with some of the best guacamole I've ever tasted, along with chicken tinga burritos, tortilla soup, cheese quesadillas and fish tacos.

Giovanni's had incredible pasta dishes and solid entrees, particularly the filet. The dessert, however, was not memorable compared to other desserts I had onboard. Izumi Sushi had amazing service and the great ocean views from the windows provide a perfect atmosphere.

It’s not somewhere I enjoy spending time, as I’d rather be hanging out somewhere with an outside view. As far as dining and lounge venues are concerned, I did not have any complaints with what was available on Allure of the Seas. Being an Oasis Class ship, Allure of the Seas has a ton of places to eat and drink onboard even if she hasn’t been amplified. Allure of the Seas sails from Port Canaveral until until July 2024, where she will offer 3 and 4-night cruises to Nassau and Perfect Day at CocoCay.

Allure of the Seas Restaurants Cover Fast Eats and Fine Dining

Allure of the Seas shares roughly 95 percent of its DNA with other Oasis-class ships  -- including a novel neighborhood concept that divides the ship into seven distinct spaces. It also shares inward-facing balcony cabins, arguably the biggest (and best) kids’ program at sea, an ice rink, a bar that rises between three decks, simulated surfing, rock climbing walls and an outdoor high-diving AquaTheater. These engineering wonders take home awards every year for their cutting-edge design, first-of-their-kind attractions, world class dining and accommodations, and unforgettable experiences.

While other reviewers made some comments about the sound at night, we never found it to be a problem and in fact, this was likely the quietest room we've ever had on a ship. The room steward was actually more attentive than our genie, and was always the first to say good morning and the first to ask the kids about their day. Overall, one of the best rooms on the ship- and the only problem is the fact it's at the very end of the hallway, so it does make for a long walk back and forth.

You can choose one starter, one main and one dessert for a set fee. The ship has four pools — Main Pool, graded-entry Beach Pool, family-friendly H2O Zone Pool and Sports Pool, which hosts lap swimming, water polo and badminton — in its Pool and Sports Zone on Deck 15. The area also encompasses six hot tubs, two FlowRider surf simulators that also allow boogie boarding, a miniature golf course and a zipline, as well as a sports court and Ping-Pong tables.

There's a lot to do on the 5,492-passenger ship, which offers a plethora of activities, multiple food and drink options and a stellar kids club. For those reasons, Allure of the Seas appeals to families — particularly those with young children. It also attracts multigenerational families, friend groups and couples.

Furthermore, Cruise Critic makes no guarantees for availability of prices advertised on our site. Listed prices may have blackout dates, qualifications or restrictions. Started in 2010, Royal Caribbean Blog offers daily coverage of news and information related to the Royal Caribbean cruise line along with other relevant topics of cruising, such as entertainment, news, photo updates and more.

For the first time ever, fill your days on a short escape with Oasis Class thrills — onboard Allure of the Seas® sailing from Port Canaveral or Miami. Kick off your vacay even before you set sail by exploring Orlando’s state parks, emerald golf courses, and one-of-a-kind museums. Or cruise from Miami to enjoy the city's stunning beaches, lively neighborhoods, and melting pot of cultures. From early July 2024 to early February 2025, the ship will relocate to Miami to offer the same three- and four-night Bahamas sailings, including Perfect Day at CocoCay. At press time, prices started at $282 per person ($94 per person, per night) for an inside room on a three-night cruise. Allure of the Seas' entertainment is as varied as its neighborhoods and its passengers.

Whether you cruise multiple times per year or you're new to cruising, the goal of Royal Caribbean Blog is for it to be a useful resource for keeping up to date with what's new and exciting with Royal Caribbean. Something I love about sailing on the “older” ships in the Oasis Class (Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas) is that the plants and trees in Central Park have had over ten years to grow. The park is full of tall, lush trees and massive plant walls that are much more impressive than on the newer Oasis Class ships. Something else I loved on Allure of the Seas was Sabor, Royal Caribbean’s Mexican specialty restaurant. That being said, not having waterslides could be considered a downside of Allure of the Seas for some passengers. Whereas other Oasis Class ships have three waterslides in addition to small slides at Splashaway Bay, Allure of the Seas does not have even one.

The vendors have also gotten a lot more pushy and have gone up on the prices recently too in order to make up for the lack of visitors last year so unfortunately shopping in Cozumel isn't as pleasant as it used to be in any way. Some specialty restaurants claim to have a dress code, but it's not enforced. For example, Chops, the onboard steakhouse, is supposed to be formal. However, I dined next to a table full of sports jersey-clad passengers who didn't seem the least bit out of place. Or head down to Deck 4, where you'll find the casino and an ice rink that offers open skating a few times per sailing. The ship also has free rock climbing and extra-fee cake decorating classes, a full salon and spa, and a fitness center.

I highly recommend visiting the beach at Mr. Sancho's, which I did during this particular visit, for a safe and beautiful beach experience, although the food itself left a lot to be desired in my humble opinion. I recommend visiting Skyreef or Chakanaab for snorkeling without an excursion like I've done on other visits. The people are pretty friendly but unfortunately they can be very pushy when it comes to shopping and even certain taxis can be pushy when it comes to suggesting certain venues for you to visit so they can get a kickback too. Head straight to the taxi stand and be very insistent about where you want to go and don't let them stray you away from that.
